I-9 Form- Employee Verification

Federal law requires employers to verify the identity and employment authorization of new employees using form I-9. The form must be completed in a face-to-face meeting.

Notaries can only serve as an “Authorized Representative” for your company to complete I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) forms legally and without errors. An I-9 form that is completed incorrectly can result in hefty fines. 

  

Please remember that the identification provided by your employee must be original documents. The list of acceptable documents are included on the I-9 instructions in lists A, B, and C. The employee can choose from these lists.
